@Vincent,

Thank you for pointing that out.

In Fedora 40, the package npapi-vlc has been removed, as it’s no longer relevant for Fedora 40.

For browser integration, consider using a browser extension like “Open in VLC” or “Play with VLC“, as these extensions allow you to play media files directly in VLC from your browser.

Comment on The 10 Best Rolling Release Linux Distributions by B.Sellers https://www.tecmint.com/best-rolling-release-linux-distributions/comment-page-1/#comment-2184775 Fri, 28 Jun 2024 00:12:22 +0000 https://www.tecmint.com/?p=39843#comment-2184775 Well, a very interesting if incomplete article. I call it incomplete because you fail to note PCLinuxOS 64. I started with the AmigaOS back in the days of my youth, but switched to Mandriva 2006.

When that company bottomed out, I searched long and hard to find PCLinuxOS 64 in 2014. Not only is it a well-maintained rolling release, but the packagers and coders of special programs are also on the PCLinuxOS Users Forum every day to help users with their problems in setting up or configuring programs.

Oh, and I have tried out other desktop environments, but KDE is the most versatile and allows me to use the same controls and art as I might have used on a modern AmigaOS. KDE’s Plasma can also simulate most of the other DEs. The only real requirement is to keep up with the updates.

@Sib

PHP 7 has reached its end of life (EOL). As of November 28, 2022, PHP 7.4, the last release in the PHP 7 series, is no longer receiving security updates or support.

This means it’s recommended to upgrade to PHP 8.x for continued security updates and support.
